Crystal Shapes and Their Uses
The shape of a crystal changes how it projects and interacts with energy. Same crystal, different shape equals a different magical application.
Points and Generators
Direct energy in a single focused direction. Place pointing away from you to send energy outward; pointing toward you to draw energy in. Ideal for intention-setting, healing grids, directing spell work. Single-terminated points are most common; double-terminated points send and receive simultaneously.
Spheres
Emit energy equally in all directions. Used for scrying, room-cleansing, placing at the center of crystal grids, and any working where you want 360 degree energy field. The sphere is the closest shape to the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun.
Clusters
Multiple crystal points growing from a shared base. Amplify group energy, cleanse other crystals placed on them, fill a room with the crystal's energy from multiple angles simultaneously. Amethyst clusters are particularly powerful for room energy clearing and psychic protection.
Tumbled Stones
Smooth, pocket-sized, accessible. Great for carrying in your purse or pocket for all-day energy support, placing on chakra points during healing, or including in spell bags and sachets. The rounded shape means energy flows gently. Best for beginners.
Raw and Natural

Pyramids

Crystal Cleansing Methods
Not all cleansing methods work for all crystals. Always check your specific stone before using water or sunlight.
🌕 Moonlight
Set crystals on a windowsill or outside under the full moon overnight. Works for ALL crystals without exception, even those damaged by water or sun. The full moon provides the most powerful cleanse; new moon is ideal for programming with fresh intention.
Safe for ALL stones☀️ Sunlight
Leave crystals in direct sun for 1 to 4 hours. Powerful charging for fire and solar stones such as carnelian, citrine, sunstone, tiger's eye, and garnet. WARNING: Many crystals fade in sunlight including amethyst, rose quartz, aquamarine, and fluorite which will lose color permanently.
NOT for fading stones💨 Smoke Cleansing
Pass the crystal through smoke from sage, palo santo, frankincense, cedar, or any cleansing incense. Safe for ALL crystals without exception. Especially effective for stones that have absorbed heavy negative energy. Hold in the smoke for 30 to 60 seconds while setting the intention to release all stored energy.
Safe for ALL stones🧻 Salt
Bury in dry sea salt overnight. Never use salt water. Powerful purification for heavily charged stones. WARNING: Salt can scratch soft stones such as selenite, calcite, fluorite, and kyanite. It also damages metal settings. Remove from salt and rinse thoroughly afterward.
Not for soft stones under Mohs 5🔊 Sound
Use a singing bowl, bell, tuning fork, or voice toning to cleanse with vibration. Sound waves physically disrupt and clear stagnant energy. Safe for ALL crystals. A single bell ring is enough for light cleansing; sustained singing bowl tone for deep clearing.
Safe for ALL stones🌏 Earth
Bury in garden soil for 24 to 48 hours. Returns the stone to its original source, drawing out all accumulated energy and resetting it to its base frequency. Safe for most stones; avoid burying water-soluble stones such as selenite, halite, and malachite. Mark your spot carefully.
Not for water-soluble stones💧 Water
Run under cool flowing water for 30 to 60 seconds. Only safe for hard, non-porous crystals in the quartz family including clear quartz, amethyst, rose quartz, citrine, and aventurine. NEVER use water on selenite, pyrite, hematite, malachite, calcite, fluorite, lepidolite, turquoise, or any stone under Mohs 6.
Check hardness and porosity first🧰 Selenite
Place crystals on or next to a selenite slab, wand, or bowl for several hours. Selenite is self-cleansing and will draw out stagnant energy from any stone placed near it. The most convenient daily cleansing method. Keep a selenite charging plate on your altar for constant passive cleansing.
Safe for ALL stones🧠 Visualization
Hold the crystal and visualize brilliant white or golden light flowing through it, flushing out all dark or stagnant energy. Requires focused intention but is available anywhere, anytime. Most powerful when combined with breath. Exhale forcefully while visualizing the release.

A crystal grid amplifies the power of individual stones by connecting them in a sacred geometric pattern. Always activate the grid by connecting each stone with a wand or pointing crystal.
