A moment with the moon
Let tonight's sky begin your practice.
Bring a notebook to the window or step outside. What do you notice? A bright edge through the branches, a veil of cloud, perhaps no moon at all. Your own observations belong in your craft.
Looking for today's exact moon phase? This guide does not calculate the current phase, illumination or zodiac position. Check a local astronomy calendar if your ritual depends on that timing.
Start with what you can see
- Write down when and where you are watching. Sketch the visible shape if the moon is in view.
- Notice what surrounds it. Clouds or a nearby roof may hide part of the sky; record that, too.
- If you cannot see the moon, leave the phase blank. You can still make a journal entry.
Give the moment a ritual of your own
Set a meaningful object beside your notebook. Let it mark the beginning of a few unhurried minutes with your craft. No special supplies are needed.
Choose a question: What am I ready to tend? What deserves my gratitude? What can I put down for tonight?
Write whatever comes. Close by choosing one small action you can take tomorrow. These prompts are invitations for reflection; they do not predict what will happen.
