What this chart describes

The Western tropical zodiac divides the ecliptic—the Sun’s apparent annual path—into twelve named sections. Its familiar vocabulary developed through ancient Mesopotamian and Hellenistic traditions and changed through later transmission. Constellations, tropical signs, and modern horoscope columns are related concepts, not identical ones.
