Movement is not an answer

A pendulum can amplify tiny hand movements.

The ideomotor effect describes movements that occur without deliberate awareness. Expectations can change the direction a suspended object appears to choose.

Calibration demonstration

  1. Write the expected direction before holding any object.
  2. Have someone randomize a hidden, harmless target.
  3. Record every result, including misses.
  4. Reveal the target and compare accuracy with chance.
  5. Do not treat the outcome as guidance.
