Steps

  1. Light cedar or sage to create a cleansing, releasing atmosphere.
  2. List everything you are ready to release: habits, fears, relationships, old beliefs, physical clutter, or stagnant energy.
  3. Be brutally honest — the waning moon rewards courage in letting go.
  4. Light the black candle and begin burning your list one item at a time.
  5. As each item burns, say: '[Name the thing] is released. I am free of it. It no longer has a place in my life or energy field.'
  6. After all items are burned, blow out the candle with finality. The waning moon will carry your released energy away as it diminishes.
