“Cleansing” is not a universal mineral-care method.
Minerals differ in composition, coatings, treatments, hardness, porosity, and light sensitivity. A generic ritual can damage a specimen or create avoidable exposure.
Documentation instead of treatment
- Record where the specimen came from.
- Keep the seller’s composition and care documentation.
- Store it to prevent falls, chips, dust, and access by children or animals.
