Herb Bundle Consecration Ritual

Properly cleanse, charge, and consecrate herbs for magical use — awakening their spirit and dedicating them to their highest magical purpose.

Steps

  1. Lay all herbs on a clean cloth in moonlight for at least two hours before the ritual.
  2. Take each herb in your hands, smell it, and learn its energy — what does it feel like? What does it evoke?
  3. Pass each herb through your incense smoke to cleanse away any previous energetic residue.
  4. Hold each herb bundle or portion in both hands and say its name aloud three times, calling the herb spirit: '[Rosemary], I call your spirit forth. I consecrate you for magical use.'
  5. Declare each herb's magical purpose: 'You are dedicated to healing / protection / love / etc.'
  6. Store in clearly labeled jars. Consecrated herbs hold their charge far longer and work more powerfully than unconsecrated ones.
