Meet your shadow self — the unconscious aspects of personality that drive behavior from below awareness — through mirror scrying and conscious dialogue.
Steps
- Create a safe container first: cast a protective circle, ground deeply, and set the intention that this work is for healing and integration, not fear.
- Light dragon's blood incense and the black candle. Sit before your black mirror or dark water bowl.
- Breathe slowly and soften your gaze. Ask inwardly: 'Show me what I have denied. Show me my shadow.'
- Notice without judgment whatever arises — images, emotions, memories, or faces. Your shadow is not evil; it is the unloved parts of yourself seeking recognition.
- Hold obsidian as an anchor and speak aloud to what appears: 'I see you. I acknowledge you. You are part of me and I welcome you home.'
- Journal extensively after — what did you see? What emotions arose? What does the shadow need? This work is best done with a therapist or trusted guide.
