📚 What You'll Need

  • Black tourmaline, hematite, or smoky quartz
  • Salt (pinch)
  • Bare feet (or hands on the ground)
  • Quiet outdoor space (or potted plant if indoors)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. If possible, go outside and stand barefoot on earth, grass, or stone. If indoors, sit with your hands in a pot of soil or hold your grounding crystal.
  2. Press your feet (or hands) firmly into the ground. Take 5 slow breaths — in for 4 counts, hold for 4, out for 6.
  3. Visualise roots growing from the soles of your feet deep into the earth. With each exhale, send your anxiety down through these roots into the ground.
  4. Say (aloud or silently): 'Earth below, take what I cannot hold. Ground me, steady me, make me whole. Anxiety leaves, calm takes its place — I am rooted, I am safe in this space.'
  5. Place a pinch of salt on the ground as an offering of gratitude to Earth for absorbing your anxiety.
  6. Hold your grounding crystal and count five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, one you can taste.
  7. Stay connected to the earth for at least 5 more minutes. When you stand, stomp your feet three times to seal the grounding.
